Budget & Expense Tracker is built with your privacy as a priority. Your financial data never leaves your device. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and how it is used.
Financial data stays on your device
Expenses, income, budgets, categories and payment methods are stored only in a local database on your device. They are never transmitted to any server.
Biometric data
Fingerprint and PIN verification is handled entirely by Android's BiometricPrompt API. We never access, store, or transmit your biometric data.
Backup files
Backup and restore is fully offline. JSON backup files are saved to a location you choose on your own device via the system file picker. We have no access to these files.
No accounts or sign-in
The app has no user accounts, login, registration, or cloud sync. No personal information such as name, email address, or phone number is ever requested.
This app displays ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob automatically collects and shares the following data with Google to serve relevant ads:
Device or other IDs
Android Advertising ID (GAID) is read by AdMob for ad targeting and fraud prevention. You can reset or opt out via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Approximate location
AdMob derives an approximate location from your IP address to serve region-relevant ads. This data is processed ephemerally and not stored persistently.
App interactions
Ad impressions, clicks and engagement are collected by AdMob to measure ad performance and for billing purposes.
Crash logs & diagnostics
Google collects crash reports and performance diagnostics to monitor app health and improve the AdMob SDK.
Notifications
Used only to send a daily reminder to log expenses. Optional — can be disabled in Settings at any time.
Storage access
Requested only when you choose to export or import a backup file. Access is scoped to the single file you select via the system file picker.
Biometric / device credentials
Used only to authenticate you when App Lock is enabled. Optional — can be disabled in Settings → App Lock.
Since all your financial data is stored locally on your device, you have full control at all times:
- Delete all data by uninstalling the app
- Export a full backup of your data at any time via Settings → Export Backup
- Opt out of personalised ads via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation
- Disable App Lock, daily reminders, or dark mode at any time in Settings
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
